Eligibility Criteria for JNVST Admission

To apply for NVS Class 6 Admission 2026 candidates must meet specific eligibility requirements like age limit, education and Reservation as set by the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS).

Age Limit

The Student who want to sit in JNVST 6th Entrance must be born between 01-05-2014 and 31-07-2016. This means students should be 9 to 11 years old at the time of admission in class 6th in JNV.

Educational Qualification

The Educational Eligibility for JNVST 2025 includes 5th Pass Students and residents of the same district. About 3/4 of the total seats in JNVST 2025 are for rural area students and 1/4 total seats for urban areas.

Reservation Policy

  • 75% of seats (3 out of 4) – Rural Areas and 25% (1 out of 4) for urban areas.
  • Urban candidates must have studied in a recognized school within the district.
  • Reservation benefits apply for SC, ST, OBC, and EWS categories as per government norms .

JNVST 6th Admission Process

The application process for JNVST Class 6 Admission 2026 is entirely online and candidates need to follow below given steps for successful Admission:

  1. Go to official website https://navodaya.gov.in or cbseitms.rcil.gov.in and then click Admission Link as given on Homepage.
  2. Register with Basic Details – Enter candidate’s name, date of birth, mobile number and email ID (Email and Phone will be verified via OTP).
  3. Fill JNVST Application Form – fill personal (Name, Parentage, category etc), academic (Class 5th Marks, school, Grades) and residential (Permanent and temporary Adress) accurately.
  4. Upload Required Documents – Scanned copies of signature, photo, certificate and then submit the form after checking all the details:
  • Passport-sized photograph (10-100 KB)
  • Candidate’s signature (10-100 KB)
  • Parent’s signature (10-100 KB)
  • Residence certificate (if Aadhaar is unavailable) .

Submit & Download Confirmation – Review all details before final submission and save the confirmation page for future reference.

Exam Pattern and Selection Process

The JNVST Class 6th Entrance 2026 will be Comducted in offline mode and the Emtramce test is divided into three sections:

  1. Mental Ability Test (MAT)40 questions (50 marks) – Logical reasoning and analytical skills.
  2. Arithmetic Test (AT)20 questions (25 marks) – Basic math concepts from Class 5 syllabus.
  3. Language Test (LT)20 questions (25 marks) – Proficiency in Hindi/English .

The total duration is 120 Minutes without negative marking. The JNVST Entrance exam is conducted in both Hindi and English and selection of students is Merit-based as secured in JNVST Test.
